1.4.1. Project Mode: Design page right click menu

Right click on an empty design page to see the menu Figure 1.4.1.1 The Right click menus can be adjusted to show all available menus or only the active menus.  It is recommended that only active menus are shown to improve speed and to simplify selections. The setting for menu types is found on the Page Setup form (shortcut "P") in Global tab Figure 1.4.1.2.

When objects or symbols are not selected the only options available is to Add or Delete pages. To add a page press shortcut "N"  or select Add New Page form the menu. The confirmation screen provides several options.

To create a new empty page select "OK" on the confirmation screen. To create a duplicate of the current page Click on "Duplicate page(s)" and select how many pages to duplicate. When Duplicate is selected, all parameters, objects and symbols from the current page are copied to the new page. It is recommended to use this function to create new pages since all of the parameters are already set.

To delete a page from a project with multiple pages, make sure nothing is selected on the page and then press "Delete" key or select Delete Page from the right click menu . If there are no locked objects on the page the program will request confirmation before deleting this page.

If any of the objects or symbols are locked then a different confirmation will be displayed.

Once confirmed the current page will be deleted. Deleted pages can not be un-done.

1.4.2. Project Mode: Library Pane right click menu

Right click on a Symbol Selection Pane to see the following menu:

Command Description
Add libraries to the library bar. Short cut "A" can be used to Add Libraries using keyboard. The tool bar also has Library Add Icon that can be used to add libraries.
Refresh all opened libraries. This function is useful when another person maintains and modifies libraries and new symbols are added to the library. To avoid closing library and then adding it again, just select Refresh Library to update all libraries with the fresh copies.
Remove currently displayed library from the library bar.
Remove all libraries from the library bar. Alternative to this would be to use "E" shortcut to hide library bar while working on the project. It is not recommended to have more than 10 libraries open at any given time. To increase performance and speed only open libraries required for this project.
Delete symbol from current library. This is a permanent action, and can not be un-done.
Scan current project and replace known symbols with the new versions from opened libraries. In many cases the symbols used for system design may change from time to time. To update your current project with the new updated symbols use this function. Only currently selected symbol in the library will be updated on the project pages.
Use this function to switch to the Library Mode to edit symbols in selected library. After editing the library you can select "Return to Project" menu item to return to the project that you edited before switching to the Library Mode. This function allows seamless switching between Project Mode and Library Mode. In many cases once library is edited, "Update Design" is used to update your drawings with the modified symbols.
Show "Print Library" dialog . Libraries are printed to simplify symbol search. Twelve symbols are printed per page.
Scan current project and then create a new library that will contain all symbols found in the current project.
Copy symbol from project page to current library. This menu is available when symbol is selected on a project page.
Diagram->Outline Scan current project and create a new page where all "Diagram" type symbols are replaced with  "Outline" type symbols from opened libraries with the same model number.
Diagram->Photo Scan current project and create a new page where all "Diagram" type symbols are replaced with  "Photo" type symbols from opened libraries with the same model number.
Outline->Diagram Scan current project and create a new page where all "Outline" type symbols are replaced with  "Diagram" type symbols from opened libraries with the same model number.
Photo->Diagram Scan current project and create a new page where all "Photo" type symbols are replaced with  "Diagram" type symbols from opened libraries with the same model number.

Command Description

Deletes bend point on the Cable object

Selected objects and copy to Clipboard. Shortcut  "Ctrl-X" can also be used.
Copy selected objects to Clipboard. Shortcut  "Ctrl-C" can also be used.
Copy currently selected objects as a bitmap image to clipboard or IMG object
Paste previously copied objects to current sheet. "Ctrl-V" can also be used.
Copy properties o selected object
Apply copied properties to selected objects
Repeat (Copy and paste) selected object specified number of time
Add new page to the project. AVSnap can have unlimited number of pages
Delete current page from the project.
Send selected objects to the foreground (front). The red line here is shown on the background  and after pressing shortcut "]" or menu item it goes to foreground .

Lock/Unlock selected objects. The status bar displays lock status of each object if object or group of objects are locked or unlocked . When object is unlocked the handles around the object are green when it is locked they turn gray . When object is locked you cannot move, rotate or delete it.

Group/Ungroup selected objects. This shortcut allows to Group and ungroup objects together. Once grouped objects can be moved and rotated as a single object. All objects must be Unlocked before they can be grouped.
Mirror Objects, Group of Objects or Symbols horizontally.
Mirror Objects, Group of Objects or Symbols vertically.
Convert currently selected cable to lines
Convert currently selected lines to cable. For conversion to work properly all lines need to be touching.
Convert Rectangle object to Line object
Convert selected objects to symbol
Trim selected cable to line, rectangle or ellipse
This command allows to trim lines and cables to other lines, cables, rectangle, ellipse and arc.
Extend to... This command allows to trim lines and cables to other lines, cables, rectangle, ellipse and arc.
Adjust Line property of selected objects
Adjust Cable Property if selected cables
Adjust Fill property of selected objects
Adjust Text property of selected objects
Adjust Dimension Property property of selected Dimension objects
Set Page link for selected object. Select only one object when using this shortcut.
Adjust properties of Cable object. This option allows to add net names and cable length to the cable object. The net name can be displayed on the drawing and also used to label cables. List of Cables function (Shortcut "Y") displays all cables on the current page or current project.
When in the Control Mode, this menu allows to set properties for all active objects and visible parameter for all inactive objects.

1.4.4. Project Mode: Symbols right click menu

Right click on any symbol to see the following menu:

This menu is similar to objects' menu but it contains several new commands:

Command Description
Each symbol has associated designator, manufacturer name and model number. This information can be quickly inserted above the symbol during system design. Shortcut "J" can be used for this function. This information is copied from symbol properties.
Copy currently selected symbol as a bitmap image to clipboard or IMG object
Allow adjusting size for selected symbol(s). This can be also selected by double clicking on symbol and selecting check box in symbol properties .
Convert selected symbol to individual objects. All symbol properties will be deleted.
Copy Designator, Model number and manufacturer name above selected symbol.The information comes from symbol properties and is entered when symbol is created.
Edit Symbol properties. Use "B" short cut or double click on the symbol to see symbol properties.
This applies to active objects. Some active objects can have code that is used to control AV equipment. This allows user to create symbols with generic code and then tailor it to the specific control functions once project is determined. This code can be edited once symbol is moved to the Project page.
This option allows to adjust symbol to fit current page size. Only if symbol is configured as adjustable this option will be available. To configure symbol to be adjustable, double click on the symbol and select "Allow size adjustment" or right click and select . Use Size to Page to adjust size of the symbol and fit it to page size. This function is ues to fill background with selected symbol.
Open the manufacturer web site of selected symbol in default web browser. This function works only if the symbol has valid url assigned. The URL is assigned during symbol creation and can be modified once symbol is moved to the design page.
Open web site of the selected symbol. This function works only if the symbol has valid URL assigned. The URL is assigned during symbol creation and can be modified once symbol is moved to the design page.
This menu item toggles symbol setting. During symbol design, default setting can be made to show or not specific symbol in the List of Materials. Once symbol is moved to the design page this property can be adjusted using shortcut "Q" or using this menu option. Use "M" shortcut to display List of materials on the current page or on all pages.

1.4.5 Library Mode: Symbol pane right click menu

When editing library, Right Clicking on the Symbol brings out different menu tailored to Library editing mode. Blue background indicates that this library is being edited.

Command Description
Create new symbol in the library being edited. The new symbol is created on the bottom of the library and several fields are copied from the first library symbol. The copied fields include: Designator, Manufacturer Name, Manufacturer Phone Number, and Manufacturer web site.
This menu item duplicates currently selected symbol and places it on the bottom of the library. The new symbol is selected and is ready to be edited. All fields and properties are copied one to one.
Deletes currently selected symbol. "Del" Shortcut can be used to perform the same function.
Sort all symbols in the library based on the model number and the symbol type.
This shortcut allows quick access to "Add Libraries" screen . The same function is available under File menu. When library is added, it appears on the right screen of the display and is available for use. Symbols from libraries can be dragged to the library design page and connected together. Library can contain symbols from other libraries. Also symbols from other libraries can be copied to a currently editable library by right clicking in a different library and selecting Copy this Symbol option.

1.4.6 Communication mode right click menu

This mode is entered by clicking COM button on the Text formatting tool bar. Any page can be switched to this mode.

Command Description
Check text spelling
Clear currently selected window. If Terminal is currently active, it will clear Terminal window. If Notepad currently active it will clear Notepad window.
This function makes currently selected window full size. If Terminal window is selected, it becomes full screen. If Notepad window is selected it becomes full screen.
Connect or disconnect currently selected COM port. Multiple pages can be connected to the same COM port. When current page is connected to COM port, all other pages set for the same COM port are disconnected.
Communication mode contains two screens: Terminal screen and Notepad screen. Data can be entered to notepad screen and then transmitted to the Terminal screen. Use F3 shortcut to send all or partial data to the Terminal.
Convert all data in the Terminal screen to HEX format.
Switch back to Project mode.
Select and modify  communication parameters for this page . It is possible to have multiple pages with different parameters communicating on different ports.
