3.3. Text Format Bar

Text format bar provides fast access to text properties for selected objects or default text settings when no objects selected. In addition this bar provides quick way of setting templates pages and hidden pages. Some areas of the bar change depending on what object is selected.

Command Description
Select Template page for the current page. Any page can be designated as Template. Once designated, it can be used as the background for other pages.
Set current page as Template page.
Set current page as Hidden page. By setting the page to be Hidden, user controls visibility of the page. If page is Hidden it will not show during Presentation Mode, if project is password protected. View menu can be used to select if page is visible in Project mode ().
Select text font. The selection can be made by clicking on the font type window or by using wheel button on the mouse.
Select font size. The selection can be made by clicking on the font size window or by using wheel button on the mouse.
These tools allow adjustment to text format. Bold, italic and underline functions can be easily set.
Format text paragraph horizontally. Use shortcut "H" or by using wheel button on the mouse. Also clicking on the icon will cycle through different available options.
Format text paragraph vertically. Use shortcut "V" or by using wheel button on the mouse. Also clicking on the icon will cycle through different available options.
Current display snap grid setting in selected units of measure.
Current display line view setting in selected units of measure.
Current default rotate angle setting. This setting defines object rotation when "Space Bar" is pressed and when constraining object drawing using "Ctrl" key.
Select text color. Click on the icon to select text color or use wheel button on the mouse to cycle through preset number of colors.
Select Line/Cable/Border color. Click on the icon to select text color or use wheel button on the mouse to cycle through preset number of colors.
Select fill color. Click on the icon to select text color or use wheel button on the mouse to cycle through preset number of colors.
Any object or symbol can be configured to be transparent. The transparency level can be typed in or  wheel button on the mouse can be used to adjust it interactively.

3.4. Page Selection Tabs

For projects that have more than one page, the page selection tabs allow to select active page for editing.

The page number is shown in parentheses. Page number does not change as pages are moved forward or backwards.

To move page tabs to different position, click on a tab and drag it to required position.



In addition mouse scroll wheel can be used to scroll through pages. Mouse pointer changes when this feature is available.


3.4.1. Deleting pages

To remove active page right click on it and select item or select Edit>Delete Page item on the Main menu. Another way to delete a page is to make sure no objects are selected and pressing Del key. If there are any objects on the page that are locked, the program will require confirmation before deleting selected page.

Delete Page command is not available if project has less than 2 pages.



3.4.2. Renaming Pages

To rename any page page right click on the page tab. Type new page name and press "OK".

Another way to change page name is to use shortcut "P" and adjust the name on the page property form.

All pages within a project must have unique names. If the same page name is create, AVSnap will automatically add -1 or -2 to to the end of the page name.


3.4.3. Moving Pages

To move active page left or right relative to other pages select option form the Edit menu or use shortcuts ";" and  " ' " to make the process faster.

Another way to move page tabs to different position is to click on a tab and drag it to required position.

 3.5. Project/Library Design Window

Project mode window has one or more pages and one or more libraries available at any given time.

 3.5.1. Switching between Design and Library mode

To edit a library when the program is in Project Mode right click library pane and select "Edit Library" menu option.  After library is edited, select "Return to Project" command to return to the project that was edited before switching to library mode.

3.6. Status Bar

Status bar displays various information about current state of the program. For more details see "Status bar shortcuts".

3.8. Library Selection Tab

When more than one library is open the library selection tabs allows to select active library:

Right clicking on the library tabs displays following menu:


3.8.1. Refreshing Library

To refresh libraries right click it and select item. This function is used when current library is being updated by someone else and you need the most current version of that library.


3.9. Symbol Selection Window

This window allows to select any symbol from library. Double clicking on any symbol places this symbol on the center of displayed page area.

3.9.1 Placing symbols on the page

To place a symbol on the current page select it by clicking on it, then press left mouse button on it, move mouse pointer to the page and release mouse button. "Drag and drop" technology can be used for placing symbols. Also double clicking on a symbol or pressing carriage return, will place selected symbol on the center of visible area of the page.

3.10 Maximizing working area

To maximize work area you can hide text format bar, status bar and library bar. To show or hide format bar use "Show Text Toolbar" command of main menu, to show or hide status bar use "View/Show Status Bar" command, to show or hide library bar use "View/Show Library Viewer" command or "E" shortcut.
