8. Introduction to Snap Points

8.1. Snap points creation

Snap Points identify place where Cables later can connect and where symbols can snap together. Each snap point has number and properties.

Snap Points can be created only in Library mode. All other modes use them to simplify drawing operations.
To create Snap points in the Library Mode, click on the snap point icon  , then click on the page to add new snap point. Also you can use "S" shortcut to select snap point tool, or "Esc" to stop snap point tool.

8.2. Snap point properties

To open "Snap point options" window in the Library mode, double click on any snap point. Properties include Connector type, Signal type, Category and Connector style.

There are many connector types that can be selected.

Also you can create other name for connector type. This should match physical connectors available on the product.

It is also good to assign category to snap points. If this is done, all cables connected to thissnap point, will be assigned specific category and can be sorted by Audio, Video or custom category type.

Signal type can be Input, Output or Bi-Directional.

Connector style can be Male (Plug) and Female (Socket).

To select next or previous snap point you can click button in "Snap point options" window.

8.3. Snap point Numbering

Each snap point have a unique id number. The snap point number is assigned sequentially when snap point is placed on the page and can not be modified. The snap point #1 is a special case, since conversion from Diagram to Outline and to Photos, use Snap point #1 to align symbols during conversion. It is recommended that snap point #1 is placed in the same location if a symbol is represented as outline or photo.

8.4. Editing snap points in Project Mode

All snap points can be edited in Project mode. To open "Snap point options" dialog window in Project mode, double click on any snap point. To show/hide snap points in Project mode, click icon on the main toolbar or use "S" shortcut.
