10. Drawing tools


Most drawing commands are located on the main toolbar at the top of the screen.

10.1. Line tool + format

For creating lines click the icon of main toolbar (The mouse pointer changes to ) or use "L" shortcut, click to set the start point and draw the line. Release the mouse button to complete the line. Rectangle end denotes start of the line, round end denotes end of the line.

You can change format of the line. Select the line, then right click it and select "Line..." command of the context menu or use "B" shortcut. In appeared window you can set color, weight, length and style of the line. To set custom line color, click the button . When "None" option is selected the line becomes transparent.

10.1.1. Text in the Line object

To add a text to a Line object select the line and use "T" shortcut or Double Click on the line. In the text  window type a text and format it.

For fast access to the text properties use the Text Format Bar.

10.1.2 Converting Lines to Cable

Connected lines can be converted to cable if required. In many situations once outline of the shape is made using cables, the user may require to fill the shape or adjust corner radius. To convert lines to cable, select all lines that need to be connected together and right click on the selection. Select the menu option . Lines shown are connected before conversion to cable.

After conversion to cable, if Fill function is enabled the object will be filled with selected color .

10.2. Text tool + format

You can create text objects to add titles and lists to a drawing. In a text object, the object has no line or fill, so only text that you type in the object is visible. But you can set line or fill for text object if it's necessary.

For creating text object click the icon of main toolbar (The mouse pointer changes to .), click to set the start point and drag until the text object is the size you want. In appeared window you can type the text, select text font, font size, font style, font color and text alignment. Also "T" short cut can be used to create text box at the mouse pointer position. For formatting the text, double click on it or use "B" shortcut. For fast access to the text properties use the Text Format Bar.


Use "H" shortcut to toggle through horizontal text alignment for selected objects and "V" shortcut to toggle through vertical text alignment for selected objects.

Text tool can display number of pages in a project or current page number. Template pages or hidden pages are not counted.

Enter #P# to display current page number within text box.

Enter #PP# to display total number of pages in a project.


10.3. Arc tool + format

To create arc click the icon of main toolbar (The mouse pointer changes to .), click to set the start point and drag to set the end point. Release the mouse button to complete the arc. The arc is drawn clockwise between the start point and endpoint.

You can change format of the line of the arc. Select the arc, right click it and select "Line..." command of the context menu.

Arc can also be filled with color and radius and size of the Arc can be adjusted. In addition Arc can be filled with Bitmap.

10.4. Rectangle tool + format

To create a rectangle click the icon of main toolbar (The mouse pointer changes to .) or use "R" shortcut, click to set the start point and drag until the rectangle is the size you want.

You can change format of the rectangle. Select the rectangle, then right click it and select "Fill..." command of the context menu or use "B" shortcut. In appeared window you can set width, height, color and rounding corner of the rectangle. For setting custom fill color of the rectangle, click the button . When "None" option is selected the rectangle is transparent. Also you can change line format of the rectangle.

10.4.1. Text in rectangle object

You can add the text to the rectangle. Select the rectangle and double click it or right click it and select "Text..." command of the context menu. Also you can select the rectangle and use "T" shortcut. In appeared window (Figure 10.2.2) you can type the text and format it. For fast access to the text properties use the Text Format Bar.
