 WAV Systems, founded by Jeremy Williams, is a system integrator for residential and commercial AV market, using AVSnap as the design tool commercial residential projects in Seattle WA. One of these projects was the integration of an AV system in a multipurpose, multimedia meeting place development of a loft space in downtown Seattle.
“The challenge was to integrate three projection systems serving different zones in the multipurpose space, a multi-zone audio system, including an additional large zone with 5.1 surround sound system for movie nights,” explains Jeremy Williams, founder of WAV Systems.
In the center of the room an oval counter, with integrate ALTINEX TNP121 table top interconnection boxes, serves as the central multimedia distribution point. Due to the multipurpose use of the room a routing system was necessary to switch between a number of different AV sources and destinations. An ALTINEX MultiTasker the best and most cost effective choice for this project. The system was designed using AVSnap design software, which made designing the system a snap (no pun intended).
“AVSnap’s easy drag drop interface and existing libraries, specifically for AV system design, makes it really easy to use. It is incredible that this professional software package is free of charge. I only had to register and was able to start designing within minute,” says Jeremy Williams.
“By configuring the MultiTasker with three scan-doubler cards, one for the DVD, one for the VCR, plus a spare, an 8x4 VGA matrix switch that inputs connect to the three scan doublers, and the three TNP121’s, we have the ability to switch any source to any or all screens. We also put in a audio matrix so that the audio also follows the video to each of the zones. The MultiTasker solution was about half the cost of a preconfigured matrix switch that would still not give me the versatility of the MultiTasker,” states Jeremy Williams, WAV Systems.
